What is MarketEngine™?
MarketEngine™ is StockScreen.art's real-time technical research engine for individual stocks. It evaluates trend, momentum, market regime, technical quality, expected upside, confidence, probability and risk/reward levels to help self-directed investors organize stock research more efficiently.
MarketEngine™ is designed for educational investment research and structured decision support. It does not provide personal financial advice, but it can help users compare technical conditions and identify setups that may deserve further independent review.
What questions can MarketEngine™ help answer?
MarketEngine™ is designed to support common stock research questions that self-directed investors often ask before deciding whether a ticker deserves deeper review.
- Does this stock currently appear technically favorable, neutral or weak?
- Does expected upside meet the threshold for a Buy or Strong Buy opportunity?
- How does the current price compare with the model-generated target and stop-loss levels?
- Is the stock's technical quality strong enough to support further research?
- Do momentum, RSI, MACD, moving averages and market regime conditions support the setup?
MarketEngine™ methodology
MarketEngine™ uses a structured technical research process instead of relying on a single indicator. Each analysis evaluates multiple signals and summarizes them into an opportunity recommendation, quality rating, expected upside, confidence, probability and risk/reward view.

How MarketEngine™ Analyzes Individual Stocks
MarketEngine™ is StockScreen.art's real-time technical research engine for individual stock analysis. It helps self-directed investors evaluate technical strength, expected upside, market regime, quality rating and risk/reward levels in one structured research view.
Each analysis reviews market data such as recent price action, trend direction, momentum, moving average behavior, volatility, technical quality and broader market regime signals. These inputs are summarized into an opportunity assessment, quality rating, confidence score, probability estimate, expected upside and structured risk/reward levels.
What does Expected Upside mean?
Expected upside estimates the percentage difference between the current stock price and the model-generated target level. MarketEngine™ uses expected upside together with technical quality and risk/reward analysis to determine whether a setup qualifies as Buy, Strong Buy, Quality Hold or Hold.
Expected upside is not a guarantee or prediction. It is a structured research metric designed to help users compare whether a technical setup offers enough potential reward relative to its risk level.
Understanding Opportunity Recommendation vs. Technical Quality
The recommendation reflects opportunity timing. A Buy or Strong Buy generally requires supportive technical signals, meaningful expected upside and acceptable risk/reward. A Quality Hold means the stock has strong technical quality characteristics, but current upside does not meet the stricter Buy or Strong Buy threshold.
The Quality Rating is separate. It summarizes the underlying technical quality of the setup using trend structure, moving averages, volatility, momentum, relative strength and recent price behavior. This helps distinguish a high-quality stock with limited near-term upside from a weaker or neutral Hold.
These outputs are intended for educational research only. They are not predictions, guarantees or personal investment recommendations.
Use Technical Stock Analysis as Part of a Broader Investment Research Process
Technical analysis can help investors organize price behavior, momentum and trend information, but it should not be the only input in an investment decision. Earnings announcements, company fundamentals, interest rates, news events, sector conditions and market sentiment can all affect stock prices.
